Dr. Li, as a prominent and globally recognized corporate restructuring lawyer, has been our advisor since 2018.
Dr. Li currently is a professor at the China University of Political Science and Law and the director of the Bankruptcy Law and Restructuring Research Center.
Most notably, Dr. Li was the member of the 13th to 15th CSRC Main Board Issuance and Audit Committee and Drafting Group advisor for Bankruptcy Law Judicial Interpretation at the Supreme People’s Court. He also accepted the honorable invitation from American College of Bankruptcy to become a Fellow. To date he is the only foreign member from China. And, as a senior researcher for the China Institute for Restructuring Economic System of the State Council, he was invited to be an Advisor Committee Member of the Beijing Bar Association.
Since 1988, Dr. Li has been working on the theory and practice of bankruptcy and restructuring. He was one of the first few people in China to pioneer in the field of insolvency and restructuring, a new domain in China. He has since then participated in China’s national policy making on state-owned enterprise reform and implementation, and participated in the drafting of a series of new laws and regulations including the Bankruptcy Law, State-owned Assets Law, the Securities Law, the Law of Small and Medium Enterprise, Partnership Law, the Anti-Trust Law, the Law of Investment Funds, the Hearing Regulation of Administration Case Involving Foreign Trade. Since 1993 he has been advising to the State Economic and Trade Commission on restructuring and bankruptcy of state-owned enterprises.
Professor Li has a BA in law from Huadong College of Politics and Law, a MA and a Doctor’s degree in law from China University of Political Science and Law. He been a visiting scholar at Harvard and Stanford Law Schools.
